Saleh Murders More Protesters While Obama Looks the Other Way

If Obama is going to switch sides in the war between President Saleh of Yemen, and the Yemeni people, he had better do it quick! But so far Obama has kept his money on his main man Saleh, and his military and police forces.

Reports out of Yemen are confirming that Friday was the bloodiest day yet in the peoples revolt to date. Saleh's goons killed at least 46 protesters with sniper rifles. Rifles and ammo paid for with American dollars. That's how the world press is writing it in their reports too. Bad, and I mean real bad press for Obama.

The good news is that the protesters have gained control of Dar Saad, a city with over 150,000 people in it. And is seen as the gateway to the key port of Aden. The big question is can the protesters hold the city. If the majority of Yemenis stick to their guns, I think they can. Saleh and family are despised in Yemen by most Yemenis. Many Yemenis have been victims of Saleh's brutal regime in one way or another. In the past month more and more prominent Yemenis have seen the writing on the wall, and switched sides. Today a group of Yemeni business men announced that they are backing the protesters now. They can see like many others that its only a matter of time now to Saleh has to bug out with his family and money. And or a long and bloody civil war.

Saleh in another futile attempt to stop the news of his brutality from getting out of Yemen has been kicking the foreign press out of Yemen. Monday it was two Americans, and two Brits. Today it was two Al-Jazeera reporters.

But so far Obama and Company are still Saleh's most loyal supporters, and must still be hoping that Saleh and his goons can force the Yemeni people back into thier shackles, and chains. And then Saleh can return back to his half hearted attempts at capturing Al-Qaeda members, while more terrorists continue to escape from his prisons. But more importantly he can keep skimming off the top of all that money that we have been giving him over the last 1o years. But I for one have serious doubts that the love/hate relationship that has been conducted by three American presidents with Saleh will ever return back to the good old days. The days when most Americans had not even heard of Yemen and Saleh. The dirty little secret is now out about our "trusted ally Saleh", and the whole world is now seeing Saleh for what he really is. A ruthless dictator who has used Al-Qaeda to keep himself in power., and who has obtained a ton of money from America to supposedly rid Yemen of Al-Qaeda. But instead Al-Qaeda has only prospered in Yemen over the past 1o years though, just as Saleh and family have prospered financially. And I suspect even more of Saleh's little know secrets will become public knowledge when Obama finally realizes that he has to throw Saleh under the Bus along with Mubarak, and Gaddafi. But hey! That's just part of the game of politics. A politician does what he has to do to save his own skin when the cat gets out of the bag!

Very little news has been mentioned here in America about the "Saleh situation". Even though Saleh is on the same level as Gadaffi, and I would argue even worse when it comes to terrorism. Saleh has managed to control three American Presidents from his little backwater country. All three of those presidents have gone to great lengths to minimize Saleh's connections, use of and support of Al-Qaeda in any detail. And they don't ever talk about how he has treated his own people. At least not before the 'revolution fever" hit the Middle East.

And all three American Presidents have always overlooked Saleh's brutal treatment of his own people. I think its going to be even more interesting after Saleh has been disposed. Or maybe some in his regime will begin to switch sides and start to spill even more "secrets". Just like we are seeing with Gadaffi.

Either way, Obama is running out of time to switch sides. And I think the Yemeni people will remember how he chose Saleh over them. But right about now Obama is holding his breath and just hoping that Saleh will crush the revolution, like he has so many times before. And Obama and Saleh can return back to "politics as usual" and with out all those troublesome freedom fighters demanding a Democracy in Yemen.

Obama Still Backing the Dictator Saleh in Oppressing His People

John Brennan, Obama's chief anti-terrorism advisor has called on the Yemeni opposition to hold more talks with President Saleh. President Obama and his advisors just don't get it. The Yemeni people have been listening to the lies, and broken promises of Saleh for over 30 years now. As Saleh, his family, and his cronies have all grown rich off the resources of Yemen, and monies from countries like the good old USA. The Yemeni people have realized something our own government has failed to comprehend: that doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results, is insane. The Joint Meeting Parties, the opposition in Yemen immediately rejected Obama's calls for more talks with Saleh, and his corrupt government. Good for them!!

I was encouraged to read where the Yemeni opposition realizes that Obama will in all probability not switch sides until it appears that Saleh really has no chance at surviving. At least they know where they stand. And it appears that they are willing to go all the way to rid themselves of Saleh and Company. Even if that means a bloody and long Civil War.

But at the same time its extremely discouraging that Obama does not take this opportunity to switch sides and be on the right side of history for a change. And maybe save an untold amount of lives if a Civil War could be avoided. Plus the Yemeni's might actually see us in a positive light, instead of "the Americans who backed the brutal dictator, and provided the training, and ammunition to Saleh's soldiers who are killing their friends and family members."

Why Obama cannot see that Saleh is doomed is beyond me. With each passing day it becomes more and more obvious that Saleh's hold on the country is extremely precarious. For years Saleh kept the various factions and tribes in Yemen at each others throats, and even used Al-Qaeda when it suited his goals. But now all those factions, and tribes are uniting with one objective to pursue, the ouster of Saleh. The old "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" technique. And Saleh and his family have a lot of enemies!

It pains me to no end to say this but if Obama were to throw Saleh under the Bus like he did with Mubarak, and Gaddafi, it would not be long until Saleh bugged out of Yemen. He would take his millions of dollars and find a country to accept him, and live out his miserable life as a King in exile. Who knows maybe he could get a good deal on a mansion in Obama's neighborhood. Or their may even be a nice size ranch for sale outside of Crawford, Texas. But at least the brutal dictator would be gone, and the Yemeni people could begin to build a real democracy.

Three American Presidents have done everything in their power to keep Saleh propped up in his rotten regime. All three of them making every excuse they could for his support of Al-Qaeda, his blatant lies, and his brutal treatment of his own people. But it now looks like even President Obama will not be able to save Saleh from himself, and justice that is long overdue.

The Military Tribunals Are Back On! For Now.

This afternoon we had a phone conference with the White House. As usual we were given a very short notice. About one hour. It appears that after a two year delay that President Obama has decided to go forward with the Military Commissions at Gitmo. Wow! Was I supposed to be impressed with this decision? I was not. It took Obama and his people two years to figure out what the Bush administration and the majority of Americans had already know for years, that Gitmo was and is the only appropriate place to not only keep the terrorists, but to have them tried there as well.

So in short it does appear that Al-Nashiri will be tried at Gitmo in a Military Tribunal. At least for now that is! I asked as to why Walid bin Attash would not be tried for the Cole attack but for the 9/11 attack instead. As usual they, the government people had no answer for that. No surprise there. We have been fighting for years to get answers on the status of the other Cole bombers. But either no one in our government knows where they are, imprisoned, dead, and or active with Al-Qaeda. Or they just don't care. Again, No surprise there either.

From what I have read and heard this two year delay in the Tribunals served only one major purpose, to give the terrorists more rights and protection under the Military Tribunals. I had to laugh when the officer on the phone stated that Obama was committed to "swift justice and the closing of Gitmo". I guess that 10 years, four months, and 24 days is considered swift to Obama and crew. And that is just the announcement that the trials will re-commence! And "the closing of Gitmo"? Obama must have thrown that bone in there for his liberal base, just to let them know that he has not forgotten his promise to them. Politics as usual.

I cannot, and will not speak for the other 16 Cole Families. But my wife and I are disgusted with Obama and his continued "game playing" with the murderers of our son. Don't get me wrong, we had more than one bone to pick with Bush in how he mishandled many aspects of the ongoing Cole Tragedy. But at least he went after the terrorists with everything he had on the battlefield, and in the courtroom. He kept trying to get the terrorist tried at Gitmo, but the liberals kept taking him to court to stop and or slow the process of the tribunals. And in many cases they were successful. But the Tribunals could and did work. And Bush stuck to his guns.

But with Obama its always about the terrorists, and what his liberal base will think.

Our son swore an oath to this country, and he kept that oath. And He paid for that oath with his life. That was over 10 years ago. And justice for most of the bombers has still not happened. Not because of our military, and or security agencies, but because of our president and his supporters. I think Obama should focus more on his oath to our fallen military members than to the terrorists, and their liberal supporters here in America, and elsewhere in the world.

And now President Saleh of Yemen may very well be enjoying his last days, or months in power.
And when his corrupt and wicked regime falls, and it will fall. It will be any ones guess what he starts to reveal about the Nation(America) that has helped to keep him in power for so long, against the wishes of his own people. While overlooking his blocking the FBI investigation into the Cole attack, setting the Cole bombers free, refusing to have at least one of them to stand trial for the attack, refusing to extradite the two he had in custody, and the list is endless how our government chose to side with Saleh, and to ignore the murdered of 17 sailors, and 39 more wounded.

We were told by our government that they had to think about the many and not the few. How many is many? Lets see, there is the distinct possibility that 9/11 could have been prevented, and what about all the innocent Yemeni citizens that Saleh and his security forces have murdered in the past 10 years, and he is still killing his own people today! Or throwing them in prison while using America money, and equipment. Only two of many examples.

We know that Obama did not have the courage to stop supporting Saleh of Yemen on the grounds that Saleh would not extradite our son's killers, and Saleh's support, and use of Al-Qaeda. But maybe now Obama will have to stop his support of Saleh since the people of Yemen themselves are demanding that Saleh and the rest of his crooked family to relinquish power, and to let the Yemenis begin a real democracy. Our government can easily ignore the pleas of one American family, but I don't see how Obama will continue to ignore a whole nation of people, the Yemenis themselves.

But then again, Yemen is one valuable piece of real estate to have access too. And Obama may be willing to pay the price in Yemeni lives and a little bad press to keep his deal with Saleh.

Good Luck to the Yemenis Fighting President Saleh!

How long will Obama remain silent on the conditions in Yemen? When will Obama give the Yemeni People the verbal support that he gave the people in Egypt in their successful revolution? And is now giving the people of Iran.
My wife and I have been reading these past days from different news sources from around the world asking the very same questions. Even though we knew that Obama would treat Saleh different from the other dictators. To be blunt Obama is being selective in the countries that he is supporting in the "peoples revolutions". And Yemen is not on his list of countries to support the people. Obama still has his money on the corrupt Dictator Saleh, $150 million if your interested in the amount. Just last month Hilary Clinton was telling us what a good idea it was for us Americans to build Saleh a Jihad Rehab!

I have talked with a few Yemenis who cannot understand why Obama is not demonstrating the same level of support for the people of Yemen as he did with the Egyptians, and now the Iranians. Some of them understand the politics involved. Some don't.

Whats really is sad, is that we Americans are going to give the ruthless Saleh 75 million for counter terrorism. And even send in more American trainers. Its sad because Saleh will use that money to keep the people oppressed, to bully the press, and any political opposition that may threatened his power. And why not? He has done it before and gotten away with it.
If Saleh goes, or not will depend on how long the Yemeni people can keep up the pressure on him. If they just give up to soon, Obama will continue to support Saleh, no matter how many other dictators fall in the region.

The Yemeni people need to make signs in English that can be read by viewers watching TV here in America. The messages need to be short, and direct. Like "Obama! Help Us! With Democracy!" "Obama! Tell Saleh He Needs to Go Now!" "Obama! You Helped Egypt and Iran! Why Not Us?" etc... Make sure that the Press can see the signs! Also if Yemenis can get to the Internet they need to send emails to the press about the treatment they receive from Saleh and his goons. And pictures taken with cell phones that can be sent to the press or others that can get the pictures out to the free world.

The Yemeni people have to get the American Press on their side! Three American Presidents have given the American people the perception that Saleh is a 'good guy". For over 11 years now, contrary to all the evidence that proves beyond a doubt how corrupt, and evil Saleh is. Our country's support of Saleh's regime has been because of politics, not because it was the right thing to do.
After our son was murdered in Yemen I wrote to the newspapers there. One of them published one of my first letters to President Saleh. We received numerous letters, emails, and phone calls form Yemenis from all over. What touched us the most was the often repeated words, "we are not like the men who murdered your son, we do not hate Americans. We want freedom here too." And "We can say we are sorry for what happened to your son and the other sailors here in Yemen, even if our President will not say it." and "do not judge us by the actions of our leaders". Our own little private war has been with Saleh, and his croonies, not the Yemeni people. I have stayed in contact with some of those Yemenis. And I hope and pray that your country will soon have a true democracy, and have the same freedoms , and opportunities that we do. I am just sad that my own government continues to back the wrong side. But we are hopeful that maybe President Obama will change his mind and show the Yemeni people the same support that he has shown Egypt, and Iran.
Good Luck to All Yemenis in your efforts to gain your freedom!

Will Obama Continue to Suppport The Dictator of Yemen?

I don't think that the Dictator Saleh will go as easy as Mubarak did when the time comes. But now that the whole world is watching Yemen, and its 32 year dictator, Obama may have to begin to distance himself from Saleh. It would not help Obama at all when the press starts to air Saleh's dirty laundry. But then again, Yemen is a totally different animal than Egypt, Iran, Syria or any other Middle Eastern Country. Yemen is crawling with Al-Qaeda, and has been since they were taken off the list of countries that support terrorism. But every America President since 1990 has bent over backwards to get Saleh on their side, no matter the cost in money and or American lives. But Saleh does not take sides. Never has. Only his own side. Clinton, Bush and Obama have all gotten egg on their faces more than once in dealing with Saleh. He has lied repeatedly to all of them, and always gotten away with it.

If the protesters in Yemen keep up the heat on Saleh's regime, Saleh will retaliate. Just like he has numerous times before. And hopefully our media outlets here in America will actually start to report about the real Saleh of Yemen. And not our own governments mantra, "Saleh is a trusted ally of America in the war on Terror." Instead maybe our press will begin to publish the facts of how Saleh has murdered, and starved his own people, his courts have freed know Al-Qaeda terrorists repeatedly, Saleh sided with Saddam, he views Israel as an enemy, his courts declared that Jihad is legal, he has used Al-Qaeda to further his own agenda, he has had members of the Yemeni press tortured, and imprisoned, the list is endless.

But I just read yesterday that Saleh's security forces will began to get American training in counter terrorism (what a joke, his own forces terrorize the Yemeni people), and a hugh increase in American dollars (I am sure that the extra money will come in handy when he has to flee the Yemen). I also read where Saleh's goons beat protesters with truncheons, sticks and knives over the week-end. The protesters want Saleh to leave, him and his whole rotten family. But its his family that control the military, and the big businesses. I also read where Saleh gave the military a nice big raise! Saleh may be a ruthless dictator, but he is no dummy. He is getting ready in case the protesters continue to grow in numbers, and become an even bigger threat to his rule.

How many Yemenis will have to be murdered before Obama gets tough with Saleh. Saleh calls the shots, not Obama. Its true that that Obama needs Saleh, but how bad does Saleh need Obama. Saleh could always call his old friends back, Al-Qaeda if he has too. Especially if he thinks that Obama is going to sell him out, and the protesters are at the palace gates screaming for his head.

Years ago I heard the same thing repeated by some politicians, FBI, and others in our government, "It will have to be the Yemeni people themselves to get rid of Saleh." Our own government refuses to get tough with Saleh. They fear that he will just go over to Al-Qaeda completely, and or that he will be replaced by an even worse dictator." So in the end more innocent people are murdered by Al-Qaeda, more Yemenis die as a direct result of Saleh's corrupt and vicious rule, and justice for the murder of 17 American Sailors continues to be forgotten by three American presidents while Saleh, his family, and his friends all grow richer off American Tax Dollars. And for 10 years now, three American Presidents have kept doing the same thing over and over with Saleh of Yemen and each one of them telling us, and themselves, " That this time it will work."
"the goons with sticks belong to Saleh in the picture"

Judge Refuses To Release Terrorist From Gitmo

Looks like another terrorists gets to spend some more quality time at the world renowned Jihad resort, Guantanamo. This past Tuesday a Federal Judge declined to release Abdal Razak Ali from Gitmo. Bravo for the Judge! His denial to release the Al-Qaeda terrorist makes our world a little safer place for all people. Of course liberals are already grinding their teeth, wailing, and pulling at their hair at what they called an 'inhumane decision". The liberals are whinning that he has been held since 2002, and still no trial.

I got some news for the liberals, we have been waiting for over ten long years for a trial. And it does not look like our son and his mates will have their day in court anytime soon. Liberals need to take heart! They have a president that talks more about the mistreated terrorists and how important it is to make sure that they, the terrorist recieve a speedy trial than thier victims. I don't think that I have ever heard Obama make mention of how long we the families, and the victims have had to wait for a "speedy trial".

Obama Determined To Set Terrorists Free

Looks like Obama will go to any lengths to keep his promise to close Gitmo. Even if it means sending the inmates to the Terrorist Haven of Yemen for Jihad Rehab. Bush tried the same damn thing, it failed miserably. Anyone who knows anything about President Saleh of Yemen knew that sending terrorists to the Saudi Jihad Rehab would be a failure. That some of the terrorists would enjoy a relaxing retreat at the Rehab, and then go to Yemen upon their release. Which is exactly what some of them did. They then picked up their guns and bombs and went about what terrorists do best, the killing of innocent men, women, and children. We Americans are dealing with the fallout of that disastrous decision to this day. The graduates of the Saudi Jihad helped to swell the ranks of Al-Qaeda in Yemen.

And now Obama wants to go one step further then Bush did. He is actually considering giving Saleh the money to open his own Jihad Rehab!! Even Bush knew that such a decision would be extremely counter productive for everyone. Saleh was constantly pestering him for the money to build one. And thank God that Bush always said NO!

Why in Gods name Hilary was even sent over there to talk with Saleh is mind boggling. Hilary should know these facts better than anyone! Her Hubby Clinton was used as a door mat by Saleh of Yemen after the attack on the Cole. Saleh lied to him and Ambassador Bodine repeatedly. But hey! Clinton was a short timer at that time. Only three months to go before he left office. Clinton talked alot of smack about the murdered sailors receiving justice and hunting the terrorist to the ends of the world but in the end didn't do jack squat. Considering that Saleh did everything possible in his power to not only hinder the FBI investigation into the attack on the USS Cole, and which our son and 17 of his mates were brutally murdered. And 39 more wounded. One of those who was wounded later died as a result of his wounds. To quote one of the FBI agents himself, "Our investigation faced difficulties from the beginning. Yemen's weak central government's on again, off again relationship with extremists meant that Al-Qaeda had influential sympathizers in positions of authority, as well as among powerful tribes in the country's vast desert. As a consequence, we regularly faced death threats, smokescreens, and bureaucratic obstructions." End quote. And here is a news flash for Obama and Hilary: Everything has only gotten worse in Yemen since then! Yemen is now considered a failed state by some experts. The main reason being Saleh and his corrupt regime. The years that he spent playing both ends from the middle have now caught up with him, his crooked family and cronies.

Saleh still refuses to extradite one of our sons killers here to America. He initially pardoned the the terrorist, and gave reduced sentences to all the other Cole bombers that he had in his custody for a brief period. I say brief, because they all managed to escape eventually. Imagine that! And then we have Al-Quso another Cole bomber who escaped from prison, and Saleh did not even bother to tell the FBI until long after his escape. He is now believed to be back with Al-Qaeda. We tried for years to get a Congressional Hearing into the Cole attack, and the subsequent failed investigation but were turned down time after time. We had credible witnesses, some in our military, others in the Yemeni military, and government, and yet a few from our own intelligence agencies. The USS Cole tragedy is shunned by most politicians from both parties. And for good reasons on their part, eleven months later 9/11 would happen. Thousands of Americans would be murdered. And all of our politicians and two presidents would claim that they had no warnings at all. That nothing could have been done to prevent 9/11. And Salehs regime played its part in that attack by trying to protect the terrorists who attacked the Cole. Valuable information would not be gathered in time to stop 9/11. All because of one petty little dictator named Saleh.

The facts as to why Saleh should not be allowed a Jihad Rehab are way to numerous to list here. Its been over 10 years now since the attack on the Cole. And my fear is that if our government keeps up it sick and twisted relationship with Saleh of Yemen, more Americans will be murdered. And citizens from other countries as well.

Why Obama continues to persist in his efforts to release terrorists back to Yemen is baffling to say the least. He was on the verge of sending at least 90 of them back to Saleh before the failed bombings that were connected to Al-Qaeda in Yemen. He put the brakes on that bad idea real fast! Yet here he is now thinking about giving Saleh the money to operate his own Jihad Rehab where the terrorists can all get together and plan their next attacks on unsuspecting and innocent people in a facility paid for by us Americans.

Is this latest mind bender of his just another effort to please his base, the lunatic left? Or is he still smarting from the whipping he got back in November, and he wants revenge? Or does he see this course as an easy way to dispose of a problem that will just not go away. Release the terrorist back to Jihad Rehab, and when they return to killing he may be long gone back into private life. Or he can always say "We always expected some collateral damage with this very difficult decision, but over all we feel that it has worked out extremely well for all parties involved." Except for the victims that is.

Here in a novel concept to Obama and other politicians: Quit making excuses as to why the terrorists are the way they are, and put the terrorists on trial at Gitmo in the Military Tribunals (without the enhanced rules to favor the terrorists) for the crimes they committed against the innocent peoples from all nations. Start thinking about the victims that have been murdered, and all the other lives that have been changed forever because of the selfishness, cruelty and meanness of a few sick, twisted and evil people.

10 years ago we were told that we had the right to be kept abreast of the status of our sons killers. We have not heard officially from our government where those killers may be in years. We have to do that ourselves. Just like we have to keep prodding our government not to forget our murdered son, and his mates. That they still have rights too. The right to have their killers held accountable in an American Court of Law. But at the present moment I don't see any trials for the victims in the near future. But I do see more being done for the killers than the victims.
